About the Artist:
Meg Biram is a contemporary artist based in the Washington DC metro area. She received her degree from the School of Journalism at the University of Missouri where she studied advertising and magazine journalism, specializing in design.
Biram worked as a senior designer and photo shoot director at Hallmark Cards for five years before going full-time on her own as an artist, writer, consultant, and photo shoot producer. Biram has collaborated with brands such as Uber, HP, Pratt & Lambert, and others.
She has painted over 30 murals around the United States, several of which have been featured in the New York Times, on the Today Show, on Good Morning America, and in Northern Virginia Magazine. Currently Biram creates fine art — a collection of paintings, collages, and sculpture — in her northern Virginia studio.

Why focus on local artists?
Art collections provide strong roots for artists, which is fundamental more now than ever in a quickly-evolving city. Furthermore, they tell stories. The Silva’s mission to invest in some of the city’s most committed artists through collecting is monumental. To dedicate space for rotating exhibitions and programming is a commitment to placemaking that will set an example for apartment buildings to come.
We are beyond excited about our partnership with The Silva, which allows Latela Curatorial to further expand its mission to curate and share narratives in this city by exhibiting art in this new public gallery space.
