ABOUT LATELA CURATORIAL

An international art advisory and curatorial studio connecting art collectors, artists, design and corporate professionals, institutions, and art communities.

We enhance thoughtfully designed spaces with impactful stories through art selection.

Our forward-thinking advisory expertise prioritizes intuitive arts leadership over temporary art market trends.

DIRECTOR

Marta Staudinger

Since Latela Curatorial’s conception in 2015, Marta has stood at the helm of all company initiatives, including: sourcing artworks for collectors, managing large scale art procurement projects, curating 70+ exhibitions, hosting 180+ arts and cultural events, and advising/coaching artists on their business growth.

Her intuitive and generative approach, unique blend of artworld experiences, keen eye, and strong international art community distinguish LC from other art consultancy firms.

In May 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, Marta initiated the GLB Memorial Fund for the Arts which provides financial support to woman-identifying artists and curators who reside in Washington DC, Maryland or Virginia to further advance women-led contemporary art initiatives. In October 2020, Marta launched See Support Collect (2020-2023), an intersectional placemaking and gap-filling initiative that focuses on collectorship of art by women and non-binary artists.

Marta’s academic career is as an art historian and curator; she holds a master’s degree in Contemporary Art and Curatorial Studies from the Universidad de Ramon Lull (Barcelona, Spain) and a triple undergraduate degree in Art History, Sociology and Communications from George Mason University (Fairfax, VA). She has worked in multiple fine art capacities in prominent art historical institutions including the Medici Chapels and National Bargello Museum in Florence, Italy; the Antoni Tàpies Foundation in Barcelona, Spain; the Art Museum of the Americas and the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. Since 2015, Marta has served as a guest lecturer for Smithsonian in Italy, Portugal & Spain providing presentations and private guided tours on the history of art and architecture.

Great art requires foot soldiers. They’re the good souls who appreciate creators so much that they work tirelessly on their behalf to find audiences and patrons. Marta Staudinger is one of those people in Washington. The artist, creator and director of Latela Curatorial continues to be a driving force for artists in the District and the region.
