Full Moon + Massive Attack Release

The upcoming Full Moon is all about Libra which prefers harmony, sharing with others and gentle airy vibrations as Libra is an air sign. Partnership and balance are important to Libra, and therefore are the most important themes that will occur during this Full Moon.

Simultaneously, the infamous band Massive Attack just postponed their concert date (originally to occur this same night in Washington DC) due to illness - to be rescheduled in the Fall.

This gathering will focus on togetherness, harmony and gentle vibrations through meditation and relaxation to the tunes of Massive Attack's music. This circle is a tribute to their music, a togtherness blessing in hopes they recover and can grace us with their talents live in the months to come.

Join Latela Curatorial Founder & Director Marta Staudinger for a gathering of guided Meditation followed by a guided Yoga Nidra. There will be journaling probes, wine & tea.

This circle will take place at Latela Curatorial.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

Please bring a journal and pen, and an object related to flight/air/sky if you chooes to place something on the altar during meditation (this could be a photograph, a poem, a paper with writing of goals, an object).

IS IT OKAY TO BE A MEDITATION NEWBIE?

YES! We will walk you through the basics and make sure we're focusing on the areas that best serve you during this workshop and its greater themes. 

WHAT IS YOGA NIDRA?

Yoga Nidra, derived from an ancient Tantra yoga practice, is a simple and efficient way to deeply relax while remaining conscious to reduce anxiety, stress, and insomnia. It is a kind of mediation performed lying down in savasana and is suitable for all ages and abilities. During the practice, we sink into the parasympathetic nervous system and enter the hypnogogic state, the state between being awake and being asleep. When we stay in this place for 20 minutes it is the equivalent of 4 hours of sleep.

The Yoga Nidra process is a voice-guided meditation that includes a body focusing exercise that creates a circuit of energy in the motor cortext to relax the brain, some breath and sound awareness practices, and some visualization activities.
