(Washington DC) Latela Curatorial is proud to host Spiritual Wanderlust: an exhibition that explores modern day spirituality and its many interpretations. Featuring eight artists working within the realm of photography, the exhibit focuses on how these artists use the photographic medium to find, construct, and nurture their spiritual beings. Each artist navigates through spirituality’s many meanings to create a distinct spiritual perspective.
This exhibition is curated by Helen Criales, a Savannah College of Art & Design Alumni and 2019 Curatorial Assistant Apprentice at Latela Curatorial. Inspiration for this exhibit came from her travels and personal experiences. After experiencing personal trauma, she realized that she had been neglecting her spirituality. In Spiritual Wanderlust, she invites the viewer to reflect upon their own spiritual narrative.
Featuring artwork by Kelvin Burzon, Andres Mario de Varona, Megan Dunbar, Melissa Jessell, Ashley Moog, Victoria Ridgway, Marisa S. White and Sue Wrbican.
